The 4 Voices of God – School of The Word

1 Corinthians 14:10
“There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of
them is without signification.”
From this scripture we see that there are so many kinds of voices and these
voices are all important. Remember I spoke recently on how the Lord
speaks to us in bits.
Am ready to speak today on 4 VOICES OF GOD
There are many ways the Lord speaks and communicates to man even
through dreams, vision, revelation, voices, etc.
We also saw in John 10:27 how the believer is one who hears the voice of
God.
John 10:27
“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me”
But let’s handle the voices and I believe that by the end of this message you shall be able to recognize the voice of the Lord well.
1. Audible voice
2. PRAYER Angel voice
3. Inner voice
4. Voice of your spirit
To begin with, voices are distinctive sounds that differentiate one person
from the other. There are 4 cardinal VOICES of God every believer must be
used to :

AUDIBLE VOICE
This is what a lot of Believers seek to hear every day of their lives because
per their knowledge, that is the means by which God speaks to everybody.
God however rarely speaks by this medium.
Nevertheless, whenever the Lord does speak to you by an audible voice, He
BORROWS the voice of an authority figure in your life.
In Samuel’s life, Eli was his authority figure and that is why God spoke to
him using ELI’s VOICE.
Samuel so knew Eli’s voice. He ran to Eli thrice thinking he had called him
but it was GOD USING THE VOICE OF ELI.
1 Samuel 3:4- 5
“That the LORD called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I. And he ran
unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not;
lie down again. And he went and lay down”.
When I mean authority figure, I am trying to say simply YOUR FATHER IN
THE LORD.
Stop thinking you don’t need a father for the fact that Jesus said call no man your father. Until you understand the classification of fathers you won’t
appreciate well what Jesus truly meant.
PAUL WAS TIMOTHY’s FATHER IN THE LORD.
THE QUESTION IS, WHO IS YOUR AUTHORITY FIGURE EVEN YOUR
FATHER IN THE LORD?
Remember the Lord Rarely uses this voice in communicating to us.

THE VOICE OF YOUR PRAYER ANGEL
This is another dimension of the voice known as the voice of your prayer
angel. Remember that scripture recounts in Hebrews how angels are sent to
minister for those who shall be heirs of salvation.
Heirs of salvation simply means Born-again. Hence this means angels have
their assignment of Serving the believers (born again).
Hebrews 1:14
“Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”
Based on this I can say there is a particular angel sent to serve you but
however when you need help of many you can ask of them from the Lord.
You as a believer have a personal angel.
This personal angel of yours according to Acts 12v13-14 has the appearance
and voice as you. This personal angel looks just like you.
So these angels are at your service.
The early church so knew that Peter’s angel looked just as Peter and also had the same voice.
Acts 12:14-15
“And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness,
but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate. And they said unto
her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then
said they, It is his angel“.
At times the Lord speaks to you through this voice and you will hear your
own voice speaking to you, this is the Voice of your prayer angel (also
known as guardian angel).
Luke 22:43 “And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him”
The Lord uses this voice usually to encourage and comfort his people.

INNER VOICE
In the above scripture we see how Jesus was strengthened by the voice of
his prayer angel. The early fathers were not ignorant of this.
The residency of the Holy Spirit in a believer enables the believer to have
fellowship with him.
This mostly is via the inner voice.
This inner voice is the voice of the Holy Spirit.
This is the primal way by which the Lord leads us.
Many believers are delivered from many mishaps by this kind of voice.
Paul perceived an impending peril by heeding to the voice of the spirit.
It often arises as a knowing in your gut which subsequently gains
ascendancy into your mind.
Acts 27:9-10
“Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous,
because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them, And said
unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much
damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives”

Remember this is the way to recognize the voice of God through the Holy
Spirit.
The conscience is the guiding seat for every person. When your spirit becomes regenerated, the word of God in you becomes the Authority that guides the conscience.

THE VOICE OF YOUR SPIRIT
The voice of your spirit is actually YOUR CONSCIENCE.
Romans 9:1
“I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness
in the Holy Ghost”
Psalm 43:5
“Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within
me? hope in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my
countenance, and my God”.
Like David, there comes a point in a believer’s life when he so trusts his
spirit’s voice to guide him.
This spoke of David the king. His spirit man often communicated with his
soul. For the voice of your prayer angel, you hear this voice which sounds just as yours but for your spirit, you feel this sense of right and wrong.
Let me give you this example. Assuming you went to steal, knowing stealing
is a sin, the feeling of shame you had is the conscience speaking to you.
Conscience simply is the sense of right and wrong.
Beloved it’s essential that you know the 4 VOICES so that you are not led
astray by a strange voice. Many have written themselves into oblivion just
because they did not come into contact with this truth. Hearken to the Voice
of God this day and you shall be saved.
