THE PROMISE OF THE CROWNS – School of The Word

The word of God is full of promises and a careful study of the word asserts that there is a promise of crowns. These as I speak of, have been known by most believers but are negligent on how to obtain them.
Many live with the assumption that when souls are converted by means of their preaching, they get crowns and therefore equate the number of conversions to the number of crowns. Mercy!
However, what they assume is right with scriptures but not the holistic truth. You will soon appreciate it. The truth of the matter is that, what many people call crowns are not a halfway by simple definition of it. ‘Crowns’ from Thayer definition or Greek definition properly means a medal that symbolizes one’s rank or authority as used in the military for those who distinguish themselves.
As I stated in other sections of my ministration, I spoke on how the believer is to be a ‘Berean’. When I speak of Bereans, I speak of those believers from Berea in Acts 17 who were highly commended by the Holy Ghost because of their attitude of always searching the scriptures to ensure if what Apostle Paul was saying agreed with the scriptures. The phrase here is “agreed with scriptures”. Just think about it; if there were believers who wanted to be sure they were not misled even though their “pastor” was APOSTLE PAUL (the man of abundance of revelation). And therefore searched the scriptures, how much more we who do not have Paul for our pastor.
Believers these days do accept anything that come from the pulpit without scrutinizing it to see whether it agrees with the scriptures. It is on this wise that I do urge all the students here to always search thoroughly on any matter presented to you by any man, whether they be angels or they be gods. This I sell to all and sundry.
Searching the scriptures daily should be the modus vivendi even the lifestyle of the Believer.
By my scrutinizing of scriptures, I came to a realization and understanding of five (5) to seven (7) different types of crowns that can be obtained by different demands.
Today I will speak on 6 of them which includes;

  1. Crown of Rejoicing
  2. Crown of Righteousness
  3. Incorruptible crown
  4. Crown of Glory
  5. Crown of life
  6. Stephanos crown and diadem
What are these CROWNS and how can they be obtained? Let’s delve into the scriptures.
James 1:12 KJV Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
From the above verse of scripture, we see THE CROWN OF LIFE. This crown, according to what we just read is not for every believer, no! This crown can be obtained on the basis of ENDURING TEMPTATIONS FOR HIS SAKE. This temptation we speak of is not that which relates to the sin of the body but rather the temptation which distracts a person from completing his assignment. When God calls a man into an assignment, Satan will devise means to stop him. And sometimes God allows it to test the quality of the spirit of such a man and when he endures and finishes the work, he stands the chance of obtaining this crown. We see this same crown of life in Revelation 2v10.
Revelation 2:10 KJV Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
Therefore beloved please know that if you desire to obtain this crown then you shouldn’t allow anything to distract you from your assignment. Endure temptations as a good soldier of Christ and you will be rewarded on that day with this crown.
1Corrinthians 9:24 KJV Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
1Corrinthians 9:25 KJV And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
The above verses of scripture speak of THE INCORRUPTIBLE CROWN. Anyone who sticks to his mandate and completes his assignment obtains this particular crown.
Do you even know your assignment? What is the assignment by which you have been ordained? If you find this assignment and mandate, then stick to it to fulfill it, by so doing you obtain this crown.
In this same scripture we see the STEPHANOS CROWN for the Greek word for ‘crown’ as used in this context is ‘Stephanos’. According to the Rabbis’ commentary on stephanos crown, these were actually glassy crowns from Greek traditions. And this TYPE OF CROWN was placed around the neck of those who ran a race. Hence stephanos crown is given to those who ran the race.
So this, together with the incorruptible crown are given to only those who complete their assignment and mandate.
1Peter 5:4 KJV And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
From this we see another crown called THE CROWN OF GLORY. If you did the work of the ministry ‘properly’ under the auspices of the chief shepherd, you obtain this crown.
2Timothy 4:8 KJV Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
    Now the CROWN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
This is for those who love the appearing of the Lord. Now a careful study of the word makes us understand that there is nothing like the second coming of Jesus. I know this may sound a fallacy in your ears probably for the first time, but I want you to carefully follow me here. The phrase used in scripture was, ‘he will appear the second time’.
Hebrews 9:28 KJV So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
You should understand that there is no where in scripture we see the phrase ‘the second coming’ but rather, ‘he shall APPEAR THE SECOND TIME’ as we have seen from the book of Hebrews. Please settle this in your heart before you read on.
So anyone who loves the appearing of the Lord shall surely obtain the crown of righteousness.
The last thing I would speak on regarding the matter of crowns is the crown of rejoicing
1Thessalonians 2:19 KJV For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
The crown of rejoicing is what concerns the saving of souls.
James 1:21 KJV Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
James and Thessalonians have some links. But then the crown of rejoicing speaks beyond evangelism. When one through grace becomes saved, such a person is to be perfected. And if such a person is to be perfected, the one who through grace perfected him or her obtains this crown of rejoicing.
Beloved it’s necessary to constantly engage the person who just got born again, into more of the word to perfect him or her and as you do that there awaits you this CROWN OF REJOICING.
Beloved these are the crowns am permitted to speak to you about on this day.
Remember that there are crowns and how to obtain each of them. The 24 elders have crowns, so can you. Be admonished and walk with this in mind.
    Shalom Aleichem!
